Intelligent and lively discussion among participants on how to collectively speed up women empowerment agenda. The consensus reached at the end was that the solution was the creation of a separate Women Empowerment Department as the real blockage in progress is the Social Welfare Department which has been saddled with the additional responsibility of Women Empowerment without enhancing it’s budget or building the capacity to handle this specialized subject.

The participants welcomed the idea of forming Women Empowerment Union to oversee the implementation of the Provincial Women Empowerment Policy 2017.

The occasion was a luncheon get together at my residence to celebrate the appointment of Adv. Rukhshanda Naz as Ombudsperson after our struggle of 9 years siince the passing of the Anti Harrassment Act 2010 which made the post mandatory in all provinces.
